| Bio: | Name: Botan Dubois Age: 26 Job Professor at Mishima U, teaching science and pre-med courses ----- Botan was the oldest of three children, a cheerful and empathic girl who wanted to do nothing more than help, whether it was by dropping dishes while attempting to dry them, or whapping people with the taller-than-her broom when trying to sweep. Her family was a stable, middle-class family, which meant not much threatened her peaceful little world. In fact, nothing did, until a few months after her tenth birthday, when Botan’s mother was diagnosed with liver cancer. It was aggressive; there was nothing the doctors could do. Botan’s mother didn’t suffer long, and her parting words to her eldest daughter were a wish for Botan to still be cheerful. Botan took this to heart as she took over the job of being the woman of the household. Her father helped, taking on a share of the chores too so she didn’t feel too overwhelmed, and seeing him pull together with her gave her hope. The death of her mother focused Botan, too, helping her decide what she wanted to do with her life. On her 11th birthday, Botan blew out the candles and wished that she would grow up to work in the medical field. That idea stuck with her through the rest of her public schooling, and she began her college years as a pre-med major. The encouragement of her father, along with that of her best friend, Koenma, gave her the drive to keep a firm grip on her dreams. She got involved in volunteer activities through her college, Northwestern University, and wound up helping as a teacher’s assistant in an under-funded school.
